Pro Team Artist Interview: Trâm “Cô Giáo” Đinh

Trâm Đinh (Vietnam) – known to many as Cô Giáo, “the teacher” – didn’t drift into tattooing. She chose it, against her family’s wishes.

Eight years on, storytelling drives the work: realistic, fantasy, and neo-traditional tattoos that pull from both Eastern and Western art.

As a member of the Revolution Needles Pro Team, Cô Giáo sat down with us to talk about how she got started, what inspires her, and what keeps her creativity wild after nearly a decade in tattooing.

How Cô Giáo Got Started in Tattooing

Nothing about her start came easy. She fought for it.

I’ve loved tattooing since I was in school, but my family didn’t support it. After I finished high school, they still wanted me to pursue higher education. With no one behind me, I studied and worked all kinds of jobs while preparing for the future I really wanted. Four years later, I made a bold decision: I gave up everything to focus on tattooing, despite my family’s strong opposition. It was a difficult time, but I made it through.”

That determination – the willingness to bet everything on the craft – still shapes the way she tattoos today.

What Inspires Cô Giáo’s Tattoo Style

Her influences don’t come from one place.

I’m inspired by both Eastern and Western art. Every artist has something to teach me, and I’m constantly learning from the people around me. Every day brings something new, and I believe we should never stop learning.

It shows in the work. She won’t stay inside one tradition – she brings them together in every piece.

I enjoy working with cultural themes, especially stories. I take things I’ve seen, experiences I’ve had, or stories I’ve heard, and turn them into tattoos. It’s a crazy blend.

The Styles Cô Giáo Loves to Tattoo

Whatever the style, storytelling comes first.

I like realistic, fantasy, and neo-traditional styles.

Three styles. One storyteller.

Staying Creative After Eight Years of Tattooing

After eight years in tattooing, staying sharp still comes down to freedom.

I’m always looking for something fresh. It has to include a bit of wild creativity, without following any rules. That freedom is where everything begins.

Explore Cô Giáo’s Favorite Tattoo Needle Setup.

Cô Giáo builds her realism and neo-traditional work around soft, controlled color, and her favorite setup centers on soft-edge magnum cartridges. She uses them in 0.35 mm, with medium and long tapers, in groupings ranging from 11 to 19, for smooth blends and gradients.
